The Tide Hotel: Mini Review

Our stay at the Tide Hotel in Nha Trang, Vietnam was excellent.

The view from our Double Balcony Room

The Tide Hotel is a wonderful budget hotel, located in a quiet part of town. We loved that it was off the main tourist drag. However, there are several ways to get into the downtown area if you want to have a walk around or go to dinner.  The hotel has scooters for rent if you want to get into town, or a taxi is about $3. There’s a bus that costs next to nothing that runs until 6:00pm, picking up by the hotel. The walk is even gorgeous and doable, if a bit long. The hotel is right on the beach, so you’re in a prime location. Since the Vietnamese people don’t like to spend time in the sun, the whole beach is empty until about 4:00pm, when they all come out to swim and socialize. Essentially, you have your own private beach.
Owen, the owner, and his wife will help you with anything you need in Nha Trang or Vietnam in general. It’s wonderful to access to such a wealth of knowledge and friendly service. Owen has the inside scoop on the best things to do in Nha Trang (and Vietnam) and the right tours to go on while in town.
We stayed in the Double Room with a balcony for $15 a night. The room was large with space to spread out and very clean. They cleaned the room everyday and everything worked perfectly.

If you don’t want to be dealing with aggressive sellers, just trying to make a buck, and want to stay somewhere the people are warm and friendly and care about you having a good time-then stay at the Tide Hotel.
